About The T-34
The T-34 was designed by Walter Beech who developed it as a private venture called the Model 45 as there was no defense budget at the time for a new trainer aircraft. Beech hoped to sell it as an economical alternative to the North American T-6 trainer aircraft. The United States Air Force and Navy eventually awarded contracts to Beechcraft to produce the trainer.
T-34s remain in use around the world and are still used for pilot training more than seven decades after their first debut.
